Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Electronics Engineer for our customer site in North Charleston, SC. The role is on-site with a focus on developing modular power distribution architectures for distributed maritime sensors.

You will work on integrating voltage-level negotiation, renewable energy integration, and power budgeting to support sensing, communication, and edge processing in complex systems. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience and strong programming

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with five years of experience; four additional years in lieu of degree.
Experience programming microcontrollers to monitor system status and implement control of power among sub-systems.
Development of DC power distribution architectures.
IoT experience with low-SWaP sensors and systems.

Responsibilities

Develop a modular, power distribution architecture for distributed maritime sensors.
Integrate voltage-level negotiation for subsystems (similar to USB-C PD).
Incorporate renewable energy solutions such as wave, solar, and peltier into system architecture.
Perform power budget analysis to inform power system and support sensing, communication, and edge processing.
Develop designs for signal/power PCBs with optimal trace routing, thermal management, grounding.
