Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies is seeking an Electronics Engineer IV to lead the electronics design team from concept through production, driving advanced power conversion, motor control, and embedded systems for aerospace and military applications.

Operating with minimal supervision, this role provides technical leadership, mentors staff, and ensures successful delivery across design, validation, and production while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline or more with advanced degrees.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance.
• Experience with testing equipment for electronic boards and devices and independent test-method development.
• Proficiency in CAD (Altium) and analysis tools (LTspice).
• Embedded computing and FPGA/microprocessor architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering development for advanced electronics projects including power conversion and motor control.
• Support proposals with technical summaries, effort, and schedule estimates.
• Develop internal design requirements and steer high-reliability products to production.
• Develop hardware prototypes to confirm manufacturability and performance.
• Establish test strategies and documentation for production readiness.
• Lead RCCA investigations and risk management for design issues.
• Support program management with schedules, ETC metrics, and risk management.
• Provide technical leadership, career development, and mentoring to the design staff.
• Serve as primary customer interface with technical reports and reviews.

This position directs the electronics design team from concept through production, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering staff, and driving the development of advanced power conversion, motor control, and embedded systems for aerospace and military applications. Operating with minimal supervision, this role bridges the gap between technical execution, program management, and customer satisfaction. Job Description The Electronics Engineer IV independently applies extensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields while leading complex programs. This position directs the electronics design team from concept through production, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering staff, and driving the development of advanced power conversion, motor control, and embedded systems for aerospace and military applications. Operating with minimal supervision, this role bridges the gap between technical execution, program management, and customer satisfaction. Compensation: $138,540 -$173,175 Responsibilities

• Lead engineering development efforts for advanced electronics design projects, including power conversion and motor control systems, with support from a multidisciplinary team
• Support proposal generation and quotations in response to customer RFIs & RFQs, including technical summaries, engineering effort estimations, and schedule estimates
• Lead the development of internal design requirements, steering high-reliability products from initial architecture through to full-rate manufacturing
• Lead the development of new hardware prototypes to confirm manufacturability and performance levels, leveraging FPGA and microprocessor-based system design
• Support manufacturing readiness by establishing comprehensive test strategies and test documentation to ensure flawless transitions to production
• Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for system and design issues, defining clear paths forward and risk management strategies
• Support program management activities by developing schedules, forecasting Estimate to Complete (ETC) metrics, and managing technical, budget, and compliance risks
• Provide technical leadership, career development, daily operational support, and active mentoring to the electronics design staff
• Serve as a primary customer interface, presenting technical reports, design reviews, and project updates while effectively communicating across internal teams

Experience QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree. OR (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree. OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance
• Experience in a wide range of testing and test equipment for testing electronic boards and devices with the ability to independently troubleshoot test related issues and independently develop advanced specialized test methodologies
