Job summary

Freedom Electronics is seeking a hands-on Electronics Engineer with approximately 2 years of professional experience to support analysis, troubleshooting, repair, reverse engineering, and improvement of electronic assemblies and circuit boards. You will work with senior engineers, technicians, and production teams to troubleshoot failures, understand designs, and develop test methods.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Electronics Engineer with ~2 years of professional experience.
• Strong foundation in electronics and hands-on problem solving.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronic failures and understand circuit designs.
• Experience with reverse engineering and improvement of electronic assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reverse engineering of electronic assemblies and PCBs, including signal tracing, component identification, schematic reconstruction, testing, and documentation.
• Perform component-level troubleshooting and failure analysis on electronic circuit boards using diagnostic methods.
• Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and lab equipment to diagnose problems.
• Support troubleshooting and integration of LCD/LED displays, touchscreen assemblies, digitizers, and related interfaces.
• Assist senior engineers with reverse engineering products from OEMs.
• Support root-cause analysis of failed boards and document findings and corrective actions.
• Develop test fixtures, procedures, and automated or semi-automated test solutions for board-level diagnostics and validation.
• Assist with redesign and modernization of legacy boards and component replacement.
• Prototype assembly, debugging, testing, and validation of new or redesigned products.
• Develop and modify basic embedded firmware in C and Python.
• Support microcontroller-based products and debugging of hardware/firmware interfaces.
• Work with UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, Ethernet interfaces.
• Soldering, desoldering, component replacement, and PCB rework as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Repair teams to resolve issues.
• Evaluate alternative components and provide input to suppliers and internal teams.
• Create and maintain Schematics, BOMs, test procedures, repair docs, and engineering notes.
