An Electronics Engineer will typically be assigned to the design of battery electronics systems such as voltage, temperature, and current telemetry, cell balancing, communication buses, and safety disconnect systems using contactors or solid-state relays. Our products include a wide range of custom battery assemblies that contain Battery Management Systems (BMS), battery cells, electronics circuits, electrical connections, and mechanical/thermal structures. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and manage customer and internal requirements as they relate to designing, testing, fielding, and sustaining compliant battery electronics systems.
  • Develop battery electronics systems from first concept prototype through validation and qualification testing.
  • Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation, and PCB layout around customer requirements to perform in harsh environments including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, humidity, corrosive atmospheres, and radiation.
  • Perform design verification testing on PCB assembly prototypes, document results, and iterate on the design.
  • Design measurement, analog signal conditioning, and A/D conversion circuits for various physical battery parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and time.
  • Design and manage high current conduction paths from tens to hundreds of amperes for both battery charge and discharge.
  • Perform and drive parts selection, screening, testing, and cost estimation in a military/aerospace environment with stringent requirements for military and space rated components.
