Overview

Leidos is a leading government contractor recognized for its commitment to ethics and innovation. The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program seeks an Electronics Engineer to support the FAA Central Service Area – Engineering Services Group in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on the Legacy Infrastructure to Future Technologies (LIFT) portfolio, helping transition National Airspace Connectivity from TDM to IP through telecommunications infrastructure replacements and related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing site surveys to develop scope of work for site preparation.
  • Conduct site surveys at remote locations for LIFT site preparation requirements.
  • Draft site preparation scope of work based on site survey reports and facility data.
  • Identify LIFT contract CLINs required to complete site preparation.
  • Develop cost estimates for site preparation.
  • Review contractor site preparation proposals for accuracy and compliance with scope of work.
  • Generate ORM PRPs for site preparation and installation of LIFT equipment.
  • Work with SSC/TSC/AT to implement risk mitigations for LIFT implementation.
  • Coordinate and schedule site preparation activities with SSC/TSC/AT/LIFT personnel.
  • Oversee site preparation and installation work performed by LIFT contractors.
  • Generate periodic status reports.
  • Update Corporate Work Plan (CWP) data and facility drawings (red lines) for drafting.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electronics Engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Suitability; must be a U.S. citizen or green‑card holder with U.S. residency for at least 3 years.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
  • Understanding of National Airspace System facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG, and NASEB.
  • Experience with Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
