Job summary

Blue Origin, at its Honeybee Robotics division in Southern California, seeks an Electrical Engineering co-op for a ~5 month term (January–June 2027) onsite in Altadena, CA. You will support electrical system design, testing, and documentation, with hands-on circuit work and data-driven improvements.

Enrolled EE student with experience in Altium, embedded C, and Spice will contribute to product development; strong attention to detail and clear reporting are essential.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or equivalent accredited program.
  • Solid circuit theory fundamentals demonstrated in coursework.
  • Experience with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout or equivalent.
  • Familiar with embedded C development and Spice simulation.
  • Proficient with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, LCR meters.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, development, fabrication, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Draft and procure technical documents (mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams).
  • Conduct analog and digital circuit debugging and circuit analysis.
  • Review test data and propose product/process improvements.
  • Perform electrical evaluation and selection of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, position).
  • Execute test work instructions and ensure detailed design documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Support systems design, development, fabrication, and testing of various electrical systems.
  • Embrace a hands-on learning approach and aspire to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to product development.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in Electrical Engineering or equivalent accredited program
  • Solid circuit theory fundamentals
  • Experienced with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout tool or equivalent.
  • Familiar with embedded C development.
  • Familiar with Spice simulation.
  • Proficient with using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and LCR meters.
  • Detail oriented with an emphasis on design documentation and test summary report generation.
  • Passion for Blue's Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $22.50 - $31.50
