Job summary

Air Products in Chandler, Arizona is seeking an Electronics Customer Quality Specialist to protect product quality and drive continuous improvement for leading semiconductor and electronics customers. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role.

You will lead customer quality initiatives, manage qualifications, and coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and suppliers to deliver reliable, world-class quality and support fab uptime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Metrology, Statistics, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or related technical field.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout North America to support customer meetings, training activities, site audits, and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary quality contact for electronics customers, managing quality concerns, product qualifications, change control communications, and escalations.
  • Lead customer and supplier issue investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor product quality performance, analyze trends, develop key metrics, and communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute customer quality roadmaps that align with customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of quality improvements and resolution of quality-related risks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead supplier quality audits, including preparation, execution, reporting, and closure of audit findings.
  • Ensure timely communication of audit outcomes and corrective action plans to customers.
  • Maintain expertise in customer quality systems, supplier quality requirements, and qualification processes.
  • Support business continuity planning by ensuring qualified product sources and maintaining product qualification status.
  • Build strong relationships with customers while driving a culture of quality excellence and proactive problem-solving.

Air Products is seeking an Electronics Customer Quality Specialist to join our Americas Industrial Gases team in Chandler, Arizona. This highly visible, customer-facing role offers the opportunity to work directly with leading semiconductor and electronics customers, ensuring product quality, operational reliability, and long-term customer satisfaction. In this position, you will serve as a trusted quality partner for key customers, leading critical quality initiatives, managing product qualifications, and driving resolution of complex quality issues across Air Products' global operations. You will collaborate closely with customers, operations, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to minimize risk, support fab uptime, and strengthen customer confidence in our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align quality initiatives with broader account and business strategies.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority.
  • Ability to challenge conventional approaches, identify improvement opportunities, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Experience in industrial gases, specialty chemicals, semiconductor manufacturing, or similar process manufacturing industries.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience leading formal root cause investigations, corrective action programs, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and quality data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working within ISO-based quality management systems.
  • Background supporting customer quality, supplier quality, plant quality, operations, engineering, or project execution environments.
  • Experience supporting customer audits, supplier audits, qualification activities, change management, and quality risk management programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Metrology, Statistics, or a related technical discipline; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout North America to support customer meetings, training activities, site audits, and quality initiatives.
