ND Defense LLC in West Point, MS, is seeking an Electronics Assembly Supervisor to lead the day-to-day electronics assembly operations, including soldering, wiring, and testing of components for defense vehicle platforms. The role balances hands-on technical work with people leadership in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The supervisor will ensure safety, quality, and timely production, while enforcing IPC standards and maintaining documentation across travelers and production systems.

Qualifications

  • 5 years hands-on electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience directing production personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of electronics assembly technicians and assemblers across one or more production lines.
  • Assign work based on production priorities, employee skill levels, and schedule requirements.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to ensure assembly accuracy.
  • Monitor production output, quality metrics, and schedule adherence; uplift issues and adjust staffing or methods as needed.
  • Enforce IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and other applicable workmanship standards.
  • Conduct first‑article and in‑process inspections; verify solder joints, wire routing, connector terminations, and component placement against drawings.
  • Train, mentor, and cross‑train assemblers on processes, equipment, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and support disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.
  • Ensure all work is documented on travelers, routers, and production tracking systems per the quality management system.
  • Enforce compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and ESD handling procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective action activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and planning teams on ECNs, material shortages, and process changes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S‑compliant work area.

Electronics Assembly Supervisor

West Point, MS, US

Salary Range: $32.00 To $34.00 Hourly

The Electronics Assembly Supervisor leads and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the electronics assembly area, including the assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing of electronic components and subassemblies for defense vehicle platforms. This role is responsible for production scheduling, workforce development, quality enforcement, and ensuring that all work conforms to engineering drawings, IPC standards, and customer specifications. The supervisor balances hands‑on technical knowledge with people leadership, driving output while maintaining safety and workmanship standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of electronics assembly technicians and assemblers across one or more production lines
  • Assign work based on production priorities, employee skill levels, and schedule requirements
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to ensure assembly accuracy

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience directing production personnel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of soldering techniques (through‑hole and surface mount), wire harnessing, cable assembly, and connector termination
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 workmanship standards
  • Proficiency with standard electronics assembly tools (soldering stations, crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a diverse team on the production floor
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ESD control programs per ANSI/ESD S20.20
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems for production tracking and labor reporting
  • Lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the production floor
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs regularly
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for inspecting fine‑pitch solder work and small electronic components
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, ESD‑sensitive materials, and soldering fumes
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, and ESD grounding equipment
