Job summary

The Atlas Group in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking an Electronics Assembler responsible for the assembly of electronic components before shipping. Key duties include following ESD rules, fabricating wire harnesses, and ensuring quality control during assembly.

The ideal candidate must possess IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 certifications and have at least two years of related experience. This position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work with electronic parts in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronics prior to shipping.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Mechanical assembly of chassis builds.
  • Follow ESD Operating Procedures.

Job description

Overview

Responsible for the assembly of any job that requires electronics prior to shipping. To work closely with the department lead to ensure that all of our customers' needs are being met. And, to make sure that all components and hardware are properly staged for assembly process.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of ESD Operating Procedures: handling, cleaning, storage
  • Use and understanding of Work instructions (Electronic or written)
  • Fabrication of basic wire harness and Electro-mechanical assemblies meeting a min of 80% of Time Standards and with less than 30% rework of all assemblies.
  • Mechanical Assembly of Basic Chassis Builds: MRC Cabinets and Mini Cabinets.
  • Become at least 65% cross trained within the department.
  • Mechanical assembly of complex Chassis builds.
  • First Article build under engineering direction.
Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must be proficient in solderless Wire Wrap process (Interconnect Builds, conformal Coating Process skills, fabrication of complex wire harnesses, and/or advanced Solder skills.
  • Use of basic crimp tools and techniques.
  • Use of basic wire strip tools and techniques.
  • Basic skills in soldering.
  • The application of solder splices, wire twist, wire harness dressing (forming and lace tie, use of a Circuit Probe Technical Multimeter and Milliohm Meter.
  • Following rework and testing procedures.
  • Use and understanding of Work instructions (electronic or written).
  • Ability to recognize visual defects in workmanship prior to test.

Education and Experience:

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred, Minimum of two (2) related experience.

Must have the following:

  • Current IPC-610 Certification
  • Current IPC-620 Certification
  • Current J-STD-001 Certification

Work Environment:

Electronic Assembly is required to follow ESD rules, wear a smock at all times on the floor, and adhere to the safety rules of floor. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, sharp objects, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
