Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a detail-oriented Electronic Assembler to build, inspect, and rework high-reliability PCBA assemblies and cable harnesses in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

You will hand-solder SMT down to 0402 and THT, perform IPC inspections, and read blueprints, BOMs, and schematics while maintaining ANSI/ESD S20.20.

This role offers competitive pay of $60k–$72,800 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• IPC certification required (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, or IPC/WHMA-A-620).
• 2+ years of electronic assembly and precision hand-soldering experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use a stereo microscope.
• High school diploma or technical trade certificate.

Responsibilities

Job description

About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Electronic Assembler with IPC credentials to build, inspect, and rework high-reliability printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and custom cable harnesses in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

What You’ll Do

• Hand-solder surface-mount (SMT down to 0402) and through-hole (THT) components in compliance with J-STD-001 (Class 2/3).
• Perform microscope-level visual inspections against IPC-A-610 quality standards.
• Execute PCB component rework, trace repairs, and engineering changes per IPC-7711/7721.
• Measure, strip, crimp, and terminate wire harnesses and multiconductor cables per IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Read assembly blueprints, wiring schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM) while upholding ANSI/ESD S20.20 static-control protocols.

What You Bring

• Certification: Current or recent IPC certification (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, or IPC/WHMA-A-620).
• Experience: 2+ years of electronic assembly and precision hand-soldering experience.
• Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination, comfort working under a stereo microscope, and the ability to read technical drawings.
• Education: High school diploma, GED, or technical trade certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision hand soldering of surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole (THT) components in compliance with J-STD-001 (Class 2 and Class 3).
• Conduct microscope and optical inspections of soldered assemblies against IPC-A-610 acceptability criteria.
• Execute PCB rework, component replacement, and trace/pad repairs per IPC-7711/7721 without damaging base laminates.
• Build, crimp, route, and solder wire harnesses and cable assemblies with IPCstandards.
• Read and interpret assembly blueprints, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to verify component orientation and value.
• Apply and touch up conformal coatings, adhesives, and potting compounds per engineering specifications.
