Job summary

VIAVI Solutions Inc. in Rapid City, SD is seeking a US-based Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing (MASH) Electronics Assembler to build miniature PCB assemblies and set up auto-assembly machines.

You will also test and visually inspect assemblies and ensure quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of electronics assembly experience, can solder under a microscope, read assembly instructions, and troubleshoot products.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble miniature cable assemblies and SMT/through-hole components.

Position Summary

The Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing [MASH] - Electronics Assembler will be a technical resource responsible for assembling miniature printed circuit assemblies, setting up auto assembly machines and operating computerized test systems. Additionally, the electronics assembler will perform visual quality assurance of assemblies completed in the auto assembly process.

Hours

Monday-Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm); voluntary OT is sometimes available.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ electronics assembly experience hand soldering miniature electronics components. Further qualifications include: Ability to solder high density miniature circuits under a microscope Must read and understand assembly instructions Ability to perform miniature detailed assembly work Inspect electronics assemblies Practical understanding of electronic components Troubleshoot products in manufacturing Ability to work with a microscope and various assembly tools Desire to work Be punctual and reliable. Working knowledge of IPC-Standards expected but not required. IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies J-STD-001 Soldering Standard.
