Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks an Electronic Warfare Engineer to support the Angry Kitten EW pod at Nellis AFB, NV, collaborating with USAF test and training activities.

You will analyze data, develop training environments, and deliver report-quality materials while operating in a fast-paced, decentralized team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience on an engineering team.
  • Knowledge of RF spectrum, radar systems, electronic attack, electronic support, electronic protection, electromagnetic environment, and military air/ground operations.
  • Ability to process and analyze data, assess performance, and generate report-quality data products.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements and to advise leadership on methods to maintain coherence with objectives.
  • Ability to bridge thoughts and articulate across engineering, operations, and management.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide EW engineering and data analysis expertise to support the Angry Kitten EW family in integration with USAF Warfare Center test and training activities.
  • Develop, integrate, test, and deliver realistic threat training environments via mission data files for effective operation of the Angry Kitten pod.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US and potential adversary TTPs to provide realistic training environments.
  • Deliver After Action Report (AAR) inputs to the test and training audience to assess effectiveness of EA and EP techniques.
  • Collect, document, and analyze data from EW source systems and victim systems to refine advanced techniques.
  • Support the build and delivery of materials for mission partner test and training planning, execution, debrief, and after-action reports.
  • Operate in a fast-paced, decentralized team environment; communicate clearly and concisely and maintain proficiency with MS Office.

Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Electronic Warfare Engineer for the Angry Kitten Electronic Attack Pod reprogramming, a multitasking, fast-paced environment supporting United States Air Force Electronic Warfare test and training. This position supports our team at Nellis AFB, NV.

Responsibilities
  • Provide EW engineering and data analysis expertise to support the Angry Kitten EW family of systems in integration with USAF Warfare Center (USAFWC) test and training activities.
  • Develop, integrate, test, and deliver realistic threat training environments via mission data files required for effective operation of the Angry Kitten pod.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US and potential adversary TTPs to provide realistic training environments.
  • Deliver After Action Report (AAR) inputs to the test and training audience to assess the effectiveness of Electronic Attack (EA) and Electronic Protect (EP) techniques.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of experience on an engineering team.
  • Knowledge and experience with RF spectrum, radar systems, electronic attack, electronic support, electronic protection, electromagnetic environment, and military air and ground operations.
  • Ability to process and analyze data, assess system performance, develop conclusions and recommendations, and generate report-quality data products.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements and to distill important technical facts and integration requirements; advise leadership on methods to maintain coherence with objectives.
  • Ability to bridge thoughts and articulate across engineering, operations, and management communities.
  • Ability to work independently.
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Experience with current DoD aircraft EW systems (internally or externally mounted) and fixed or mobile ground-based EW systems.
  • AESA radar systems; signal analysis; PDW analysis.
  • Experience on a flight line; modeling EA algorithms and developing analytical tools for Mission Data development.
  • Programming experience in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, VBA, and/or C++.
  • Experience operating test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and software-defined radios.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Mathematics required with 7+ years of experience, or Associate’s Degree with 9+ years of experience.
  • Master of Science in Engineering or Mathematics desired with 5+ years of experience.
  • Electrical or RF Engineering focus highly desired.
Travel Requirements

Routine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate about one week per month. Non-traditional work hours may be required.

Clearance Requirements

TS with in-scope SSBI and SCI/SAP eligibility required. U.S. Citizenship is required.
