Electronic/Test Technician – NW Houston

Pay: $21 – $23 per hour

Shift: 6AM – 3PM

Type: Temp to Hire

Overview:

An electronic tester tests the wiring, circuits, and hardware of electrical products and systems. Job duties include testing, troubleshooting, and replacing defective components, inspecting previously assembled units, documenting test results, and assembling controllers.

Major Responsibilities:

• Testing Gas Chromatographs and Flame Ionization Detectors based on existing documentation.
• Assembling controllers for legacy model Gas Chromatographs.

Education:

2-year Technical Degree in Electronics or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with testing/repair of electrical/electronic equipment.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ideal candidate will have experience testing Gas Chromatographs based on existing documentation.

Testing Details:

This testing includes but is not limited to:

• Digital Inputs/Digital Outputs
• Analog Inputs/Outputs
• Serial RS-232/RS-485 communication
• Ethernet communication
• Foundation Field Bus functionality

GC Hardware Testing Includes:

• Valve actuation
• TCD integrity
• Signal input from detectors including FID and FPD
• Heater functionality and control
• Hi-Pot testing
• Leak checks

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assembling controllers for legacy GCs following existing documentation.
• Testing controllers on a test fixture with calibration gas mixtures.
• Troubleshooting and repairing controllers submitted by clients to restore functionality.
