Job summary

Cobalt Digital is seeking an Electronic Test Technician in Champaign, Illinois for a full-time on-site role in Manufacturing. You will test and process products prior to shipment, reporting issues to engineering as needed.

The position emphasizes testing procedures, reading schematics and precise soldering work in a fast-paced environment with shifts as requirements dictate.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting test procedures, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies to the component level.
• Soldering skills and ability to do precision work.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will test and process Cobalt Digital products prior to shipment to customers. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing. Cobalt Digital offers group health insurance, a 401(k) with matching contributions, and a generous company holiday schedule.

A typical day in Cobalt’s test department will include processing untested products as they arrive from our factories. The work is in a fast-paced environment and shifting priorities can be expected depending on customer, engineering, and sales requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience reading and interpreting test procedures, schematics and engineering drawings
• Familiarity with measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and test signal generator monitors and analyzers
• Have an understanding of electronic circuit theory and design
• Ability to troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies to the component level
• Soldering skills and ability to do precision work
• Strong attention to detail
• Communicate and describe unexpected issues to supervisors and/or engineering as they arise
• Additional training would be given as required
