Job summary

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is seeking a mid-level test technician in Chandler, AZ to perform electrical functional testing, calibration, and verification of standard products, PCBAs, and systems.

You will identify failures, document results, and support engineering with prototype and production testing, using digital logic, RF/testing tools, and firmware verification to ensure product quality.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school.
• 0-2 years related experience and/or training - or equivalent combination of education and military experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and parametric testing of digital circuit boards and systems.
• Troubleshoot digital components and assemblies using schematics, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Operate automated test stations and interpret test results.
• Validate firmware and embedded software functionality during testing.
• Document test outcomes and assist in root cause analysis for failures.

• May perform adjustments, calibration, alignment, or modification of circuitry to improve product performance.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform electrical functional testing, calibration, and verification of standard products, PCBAs, and systems in accordance with established procedures. Independently identify and document failures, elevate recurring issues to leads or engineering for trend analysis, and contribute to root cause investigations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention protocols. This is a mid-level technician role requiring solid proficiency in electronic symbol recognition, circuit design fundamentals, and hands-on troubleshooting of moderately complex systems. Preferred qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training, along with 2+ years of experience in RF and digital testing environments using discrete test equipment and CAT (Computer Automated Test) systems.

Responsibilities

• May perform adjustments, calibration, alignment, (under supervision) modification of circuitry or components to improve product performance.
• Require the ability to use basic electronic theory to repair boards or systems. May assist in the construction of test fixtures.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex digital and RF circuits down to component level

Requirements

• Familiarity with digital logic, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded systems
• Experience with test tools like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automated test software
• Ability to read schematics, engineering change orders (ECOs), and test procedures
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education
