Hinckley Yachts is seeking an Electronic Technician to maintain electrical systems on our premium boats. You will read schematics, diagnose, and repair navigation, communication, and sonar systems, with brands like Garmin, Raymarine, and Furuno.

The role emphasizes precision, safety, and documented service, in a waterfront setting. A valid driver's license and at least one year of marine electrical experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with marine electrical systems, esp. Garmin devices.
  • Proficient in reading DC/AC wiring plans and schematics.
  • Familiar with diagnostic software and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to work from drawings and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics: test and repair electrical systems using diagrams and schematics.
  • Repairs: troubleshoot navigation, comms, and sonar systems (GPS, radar, VHF, depth sounders).
  • Product Lines: work with Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno and related products.
  • Testing: use ohmmeters, voltmeters; perform preventive maintenance and document services.
  • Safety Compliance: follow manufacturing safety standards and keep a clean work area.
  • Other: perform any additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

As our Electronic Technician, you’ll contribute to the maintenance of electrical systems aboard a variety of boats. This is an opportunity to work with premium brands like Garlin, Raymarine, and Furuno. The ideal candidate will be skilled in marine electrical systems, interpreting schematics, and troubleshooting onboard electronics. If you’re passionate about precision and want to be part of a team that services some of the world’s finest yachts.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair electrical systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair navigation, communication, and sonar systems, including GPS, radar, VHF radios, and depth sounders.
  • Product Lines: Must be comfortable working with Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, and other types of electronic-related products.
  • Testing: Test systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other equipment. Perform preventive maintenance to minimize system failures and ensure vessel reliability. Maintain a detailed record of services.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to manufacturing safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience: One (1) year of experience in marine electrical systems or related fields.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with marine electrical systems, specifically Garmin technology.
  • Strong understanding of DC and AC wiring, diagnostic software, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools.
