Platform Description:


Ground Tactical Engagement Systems (TES) MILES consists of simulation and training equipment including but not limited to the following: I-MILES Combat Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System (CV TESS), Opposing forces Surrogate Tracked Vehicle (OSTV) , Opposing Forces Surrogate Vehicle (OSV) , Opposing forces Surrogate Wheeled Vehicle (OSWV), MILES XXI M2/M3A2/A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle CVS/ I-MILES, Tactical Vehicle System (TVS) TVS, M107 Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapons System (MILES IWS & MILES IWS/2), IWS/2, Mirror Alignment Jig Kit (MAJiK & MAJIK-V2), MILES 2000, Laser Target Interface Device (LTID), MILES-B, MK-19, M1 (Short Range) Small Arms (SAAF), Simulated Area Weapons Effects (SAWE)/(MILES) II, Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (I-MILES), Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLM), STRYKER, Universal Controller Device (UCD) TOW Improved Target Acquisition System - Tactical Engagement Simulation System (ITAS-TESS)


Job Description:



  • Under minimal supervision performs scheduled and corrective maintenance on Ground TES Devices and GFP, following technical manuals, system maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available.

  • Informs the Depot Lead of the maintenance timelines including notifying when and if personnel need to travel for maintenance purposes or to support increased demand.

  • Ensures maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing.

  • Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSite.

  • Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location.

  • Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, supports management of obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.

  • Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer's instructions.


Degree(s)/Years of Experience:(2 +BA/BS or 1+MA/MS) or (4 +AA) or (6+No Degree).


Certification(s):


Basic Electronic Technical Certificate (preferred)


Desired Experience:



  • Experience performing scheduled, and corrective maintenance on TADSS and GFP, following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available under minimal supervision.

  • Experience informing depot lead of the maintenance timelines for both staffed and unstaffed sites, including notifying when personnel need to travel for maintenance purposes or to support increased demand.

  • Experience ensuring maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing and records all maintenance activities in real-time in management information systems (MIS).

  • Experience adhering to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location and set up and tests TADSS to confirm they work as expected, including interoperability and operation verification.

  • Experience monitoring hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail and analyze maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.
