The role requires one year of technical experience in electronic equipment installation and maintenance, with a high school diploma, plus opportunities for overtime in a full-time executive branch position based in Frankfort, KY.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate.
  • One year of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Technical training in electronics or a related field can substitute for experience.
  • Additional technical experience can substitute for education or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains and repairs electronic equipment and devices.
  • Tests electronic equipment to evaluate performance and recommends corrective procedures.
  • Coordinates work done in the supply electronic shop and in the field.
  • Monitors stock level of electronic parts and makes orders, as necessary.
  • Tests and evaluates new electronic equipment to determine feasibility of Agency use.
  • Inspects surplus vehicles to determine which electronic parts may be repaired or reused.
  • Removes parts from surplus vehicles; makes any necessary repairs and installs into new vehicles.
  • Contacts vendors regarding warranty work on electronic equipment and ensures the work is completed.
