Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky State Police, is seeking an Electronic Technician II to install and maintain electronic equipment including radios, radars, mobile data routers, antennas, emergency equipment, and other public safety gear.

The role requires one year of technical experience in electronic equipment installation and maintenance, with a high school diploma, plus opportunities for overtime in a full-time executive branch position based in Frankfort, KY.

Qualifications

High school graduate.
One year of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
Technical training in electronics or a related field can substitute for experience.
Additional technical experience can substitute for education or experience.

Responsibilities

Installs, maintains and repairs electronic equipment and devices.
Tests electronic equipment to evaluate performance and recommends corrective procedures.
Coordinates work done in the supply electronic shop and in the field.
Monitors stock level of electronic parts and makes orders, as necessary.
Tests and evaluates new electronic equipment to determine feasibility of Agency use.
Inspects surplus vehicles to determine which electronic parts may be repaired or reused.
Removes parts from surplus vehicles; makes any necessary repairs and installs into new vehicles.
Contacts vendors regarding warranty work on electronic equipment and ensures the work is completed.
