Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is recruiting an Electronic Technician II for the Northwest Florida Reception Center. This Career Service role focuses on maintaining and repairing electronic systems critical to facility security and operations.

The technician will work in the Maintenance Department, perform preventive maintenance, train supervised inmates, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of electronics/electrician experience; or 4+ years of electronics experience with college or vocational/technical training substituting for the experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Support knowledge, skills, and abilities in the application, education, work experience, work sample, interview, and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices including perimeter security, internal security, locking controls, CCTV, and communications within a correctional facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and keep records per Department guidelines.
• Repair and modify complex electronic equipment; operate, repair, and calibrate testing equipment.
