Job summary

Southwire Company, a leader in wire and cable manufacturing, is seeking an Electronic Technician to support our manufacturing operations. You will perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machinery, troubleshoot electronic and motor control systems, and contribute to process improvements.

The role requires a strong electronic background, ability to read schematics, and experience with CMMS and Excel.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required; technical degree preferred.
• Strong electronic background and ability to read schematics/drawings.
• Proficient with test equipment like multimeters/oscilloscopes; MS Office/CMMS.
• Ability to interpret OEM manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLC logic programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using logical and systematic methods.
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, digital equipment and motor controls (AC/DC).
• Analyze faults in relay logic, motor control circuits, and power circuits.
• Access and use PLC logic to troubleshoot production equipment.
• Replace failed parts and calibrate equipment to specifications.
• Maintain maintenance data to establish history and future needs.
