Job summary

Five Star Management LLC is seeking an Electronics Technician for our Houston plant to install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment in manufacturing operations. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and electrical systems, performing preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshooting to keep production running safely and efficiently on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance. Perform preventive, predictive maintenance and total productive maintenance in accordance with standardized procedures.
• Interact with operators, supervisors, co-workers in a team-oriented fashion towards a common goal.
• Read electrical and electronic schematics, understand technical books and manuals, and research manuals from component manufacturers.
• Extensive working knowledge of PLCs, AC/DC drives, and HMIs.
• Troubleshoot faults and breakdowns using instruments, blueprints, manuals, manufacturer specifications, and PLC ladder diagrams up to 480V.
• Repair boards to the component level when needed.
• Keep records of faults and alarms by date and machine number in a computer database.
• Navigate machine systems to check operating parameters and assist with setup.
• Programming ability for PLCs and HMIs, and drives setup.
• Troubleshoot downtime in support to production and meet standards.
• Perform all tasks with urgency and accuracy.

Job Details: Job Location: Houston, TX 77041, Position Type: Full Time, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Skilled Labor - Trades, This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electronic equipment used in our manufacturing operations, mainly in automation equipment. This position will ensure that all electrical and electronic systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with our company standards.

DESCRIPTION

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance. Perform preventive, predictive maintenance and total productive maintenance in accordance with standardized procedures.
• Be able to interact with operators, supervisors, co-workers in a team-oriented fashion towards a common goal.
• Ability to adjust to changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment, read electrical and electronic schematics, understand technical books and manuals, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, able to research in the Internet for manuals and instructions from components manufacturers.
• Extensive working knowledge of PLC's, AC and DC drives, Human Machine Interfaces, etc.
• Troubleshoot faults and breakdowns using instruments, blueprints, manuals, manufacturer specifications, machine diagnosis, control parameters, PLC ladder diagrams and experience working with machine voltages up to 480 volts.
• Electronics experience and capable of repairing boards to the component level.
• Keep records of faults and alarm by date, machine number in computer database.
• Be able to navigate in the machine system to check operating parameters, and general set up if needed.
• Programming ability for PLC's and HMI's, and drives set up.
• Troubleshoot downtime in support to production and meet standards.
• Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience as electronics technician or similar role.
• A minimum of 3 years of industrial electronics experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving.
• Competence in operating hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work primarily performed on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high or low temperatures and chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
