Job summary

Exelon is seeking a field technician to assist with testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of our communication systems and protective control networks. You will support higher classified staff, operate test equipment, and follow safety protocols in varied environments.

The role requires an associate degree in electrical or related fields, strong communication skills, and a readiness for overtime, on-call duties, and shift work as per the labor agreement.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical or related field or equivalent
• Knowledge of electric and electronic principles as related to communications and protective control systems
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and basic First-Aid
• Experience demonstrating skill learning various work methods
• Experience demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills
• Experience demonstrating skill using various test equipment (e.g., instruments, hand tools)
• Experience demonstrating ability to take direction from leads, supervisors, and managers
• Willingness to work overtime and be on call as per Labor Agreement
• Ability for indoor/outdoor tasks including physical activity and safety gear
• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass background/drug tests

Responsibilities

• Assist higher classified employees with testing, installation, maintenance, repair and modifications of Company communication systems and protective control systems
• Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while performing duties
• Operate and use test equipment to diagnose and support system testing
• Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete tasks in a timely manner
