Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking an Electronic Technician Assistant to assist with installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment across traffic, water, and related systems. Under supervision, you will learn to apply electronic theory, test techniques, and safety practices while supporting senior technicians.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, component replacement, system calibration, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of electronics installation, testing, diagnosis or repair experience.
• Equivalencies may fulfill education requirements as listed.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with evaluating performance and reliability of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and replace defective electronic equipment such as communication gear and traffic signals.
• Perform tests and measurements to diagnose malfunctions in pumps and electrical systems.
• Drive and operate City of Dallas vehicles to support repairs and maintenance.
• Document maintenance, inventory, and repair activities; keep records up to date.
• Replace components in motors and pumps; calibrate and troubleshoot equipment; assist during emergencies.
• Perform other trades work as needed.
