Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 3 to join the Test and Evaluation team. This on-site role is located at Tinker AFB and Oklahoma City, OK, with a 5/40 schedule and potential shift/overtime as needed.

The successful candidate will build, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems, interpret engineering drawings, and support development activities while maintaining lab organization and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret clearance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings per ASME/IEEE standards.
  • Lift/move objects up to 50 lbs; handle hazardous materials.
  • Vision exam to differentiate cable colors.
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, or fabrication.
  • Willing to work full-time on-site (no remote).
  • Willing to work Monday–Friday 5/40; overtime/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems from engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Support startup/shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, and post-delivery support.
  • Assist in wiring harness and cable assembly per diagrams.
  • Produce engineering documentation, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Maintain Lab space with 5s and tool control.
  • Support development engineering activities (design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification).
  • Conduct routine testing and troubleshooting; prototype building.
  • Perform operational tests to confirm design conformance.
  • Diagnose malfunctions to component level; collect data.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on various tasks.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 3 to join the team of qualified individuals on our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located onsite in Tinker AFB and Oklahoma City, OK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration & recovery documentation,
  • Support startup & shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, as well as post-delivery support.
  • Support the build and installation of custom cables and wire harness assemblies as well as tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Maintaining the Lab space including 5’s and tool control.
  • Supporting development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.
  • Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.
  • Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Conducting engineering tests and collecting data.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies.
  • Must have ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Must pass a vision exam that tests for color blindness to confirm the ability to visually differentiate cables and wires based on their color
  • Must have experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work Monday thru Friday 5/40 schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to support varying shifts, overtime, and holidays as needed to support business objectives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret clearance with investigation date within the last 5 years
  • Proficiency with JIRA
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc.

Primary Level Salary Range: $54,500.00 - $90,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
