Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician - Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Rapid Capabilities Lab supporting our Test & Evaluation Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE) organization. This on-site role is located in Melbourne, FL, with a 4/10 schedule (6:00 am to 4:30 pm) and Fridays off.

The position supports multiple programs in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years related education/experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Clearance and PAR as required.
  • Ability to move objects up to 50 lbs and work with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings per ASME and IEEE standards.
  • Experience building and installing custom harness assemblies per industry standards.
  • Experience with connectors (D38999, D-sub, twinax, RJ45).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Lab space with 5S and tool control.
  • Assemble and build Cable harness.
  • Support development engineering activities: design, fabrication, modification and assembly of electronic systems.
  • Conduct routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental tasks.
  • Perform operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician - Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Rapid Capabilities Lab supporting our Test & Evaluation Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE) organization. This position is located on site in Melbourne, FL.


The Rapid Capabilities Lab is in need of an adaptable Electronic technician to join our fast-paced, dynamic fabrication environment. In this role, you will support multiple programs, collaborate closely with lab and test engineering. You will be expected to think critically throughout the build process, be able to follow complex direction, and communicate technical observations in a collaborative environment. This position is ideal for a proactive team player who thrives on variety, handles shifting priorities with ease, and is genuinely eager to learn and expand your technical skillset.


To excel in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in cable/harness fabrication, understand standard shop practices, and build specifications.


Key Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To


  • Maintaining the Lab space including 5’s and tool control.

  • Assembling and building Cable harness

  • Supporting development engineering activities such as design, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.

  • Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.

  • Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.

  • Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level.

  • Conducting engineering tests and collecting data.

  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

This role will be filled at either a Electronic Test Technician 2 or 3 based on the relevant experience required for each role.


Basic Qualifications Level 2


  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies.

  • Experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Proficiency with CPLM and NX

  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.

  • Active US Secret Government Clearance

  • Experience in soldering

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00


Secondary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00


The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.


Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
