Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring an Electronic Technician 3 for the Melbourne, FL site. The role involves hands-on lab and electronic assembly work within a fast-paced R&D fabrication environment, performing varied tasks as part of a team or solo.

The candidate will assemble harnesses, support engineering activities, and conduct tests while collaborating with engineers. This position requires the ability to read engineering drawings and handle equipment safely on shift schedules.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and various shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and off-shifts.
  • Must have the ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Must be able to work from engineering drawings or models.
  • Must have experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Lab space including 5’s and tool control.
  • Assembling and building Cable harness and Rack assemblies.
  • Supporting development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.
  • Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.
  • Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Conducting engineering tests and collecting data.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 3 to join the team of qualified individuals on our Test and Evaluation, Lab Test team. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL. In this role, the successful candidate will be performing a variety of tasks that will be done in a Electronic and Lab assembly area. Working with a team or individually in a fast-paced R&D fabrication environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to work from engineering drawings or models.
  • Must have experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with CPLM and NX
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.
Salary Range

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
