Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking an entry-level to early-career engineer to apply theory and hands-on knowledge in assembling, testing, and modifying aircraft training equipment.

You will read dials, assemble electronic systems, calibrate test setups, and collaborate with engineers to resolve design issues while following safety protocols. This role offers growth in a premier aviation training environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Less than 1 year experience.

  • Assemble, install, calibrate, test, and repair electronic and electrical assembly systems and prototypes using hand tools and instruments.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance and record results.
  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  • Review electrical engineering documents to identify revisions and amendments.
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve developmental problems.
  • Conduct inspections for quality control and reporting findings.

Job description

Salary Range: $58,000.00-$98,500.00

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, education, skills, and experience as well as market demands. These factors impact the salary/wage offered.

Purpose of Position

Apply theory, principles, and related knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering to assemble, test, and modify machinery and equipment.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Read dials and meters to determine amperage, voltage, electrical output and input at specific operating temperature to analyze parts performance.
  • Assemble, install, integrate, calibrate, test, debug, and repair electronic and electrical assembly systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  • Review existing electrical engineering documents and criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
  • Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings, and recommendations.
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design‑related problems.
  • Meet or exceed standard job times.
