Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Florida is seeking an Electronic Technician to join a cutting-edge team developing unmanned aircraft systems for electronic warfare.

You will perform precision manufacturing and assembly of aircraft electrical systems, build wire harnesses, terminate connectors, and solder to exacting standards while supporting tests of complex electronic and control systems. This role requires an associate degree in electronics with extensive experience, strong soldering, RF/microwave

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field and 10+ years related experience.
  • Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment.
  • Expert soldering skills.
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills.
  • Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Constructs, maintains, and tests complex electrical systems and components.
  • Supports the development, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specifications.
  • Tests and modifies electronic parts using measurement and diagnostic tools.
  • Ensures systems meet established specifications.
  • Prepares project design documentation.
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the work.
  • Assigns tasks to and directs other technicians.
  • Travels up to 25%.

Join a cutting-edge team developing next-generation unmanned aircraft systems for the Electronic Warfare business unit. As an Electronic Technician, you will play a critical role in bringing advanced aerospace technologies to life by performing precision manufacturing and assembly of aircraft electrical systems. Responsibilities include building and installing electrical wire harnesses and bundles, wire stripping, connector terminations, and high-quality soldering to exacting standards. You will test, diagnose, and troubleshoot sophisticated electronic and control systems that power mission-critical unmanned air vehicles, ensuring peak performance and reliability.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Constructs, maintains, and tests complex electrical systems and components.
  • Supports the development, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Uses measuring and diagnostics tools to test and modify electronic parts.
  • Ensures systems and components meet established specifications.
  • Prepares complete project design documentation.
  • Designs and conduct experiments and analyzes and interprets data.
  • Assigns tasks to and direct other technicians.
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the work.
  • Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignment and equipment.
  • Possibility of up to 25% traveling.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Associate’s degree in Electronics or other related field and 10+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Effective knowledge of Schematic Capture and PCB layout software. Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, vector signal analyzers, oscilloscopes). Expert soldering skills. Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method. Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives. Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products. Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is: $68,000 - $103,750
