Job summary

Acquisition NexGen is seeking a Senior Component-Level Electronics Test Technician for 100% on-site support of testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and verification of complex electronic assemblies and systems. You will work with analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics and liaise with engineering, production, and quality teams.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, 1+ year of electronics experience, and active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant electronics experience.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuits (amplifiers, filters, oscillators, power supplies).
  • Strong understanding of digital circuits (logic families, microcontrollers, interfaces).
  • Working knowledge of power electronics (linear/switching regulators, motor drives).
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform component-level troubleshooting on analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic assemblies.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the board and component level.
  • Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate faults.
  • Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters for diagnostics.
  • Apply electronics theory (Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, transistors, op-amps, digital logic) to fault analysis.
  • Identify failed components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, ICs, power devices).
  • Conduct functional and environmental testing to verify repairs.
  • Document failure modes, root causes, repairs, and corrective actions in quality systems.
  • Provide technical support to production, engineering, and quality teams.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Component-Level Electronics Test Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and verification of sophisticated electronic assemblies and systems. This position requires strong hands‑on electronics experience and the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment down to the individual component level. The technician will work with analog, digital, mixed‑signal, and power electronics and collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform component‑level troubleshooting on analog, digital, mixed‑signal, and power electronic assemblies.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the board and individual component level.
  • Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate faults.
  • Use advanced diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
  • Apply electronics theory, including Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, transistor theory, operational amplifiers, digital logic, and power conversion, to fault analysis.
  • Identify failed or out‑of‑specification components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, and power devices.
  • Conduct functional and environmental testing to verify repairs.
  • Document failure modes, root causes, repairs, and corrective actions in applicable maintenance or quality systems.
  • Provide technical support to production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Assist in developing troubleshooting procedures, test plans, and repair documentation.
  • Support design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems and specialized test equipment.
  • Fabricate simple hardware as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant electronics experience.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies.
  • Strong understanding of digital circuits, including logic families, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of power electronics, including linear and switching regulators and motor drives.
  • Fundamental knowledge and proficiency in the use of related electronic tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
  • Clear computer and test equipment knowledge.
  • Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FCC First Class license or equivalent electronics‑related credential.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex military, aerospace, defense, RF, communications, or other high‑reliability electronics.
  • Experience performing root‑cause analysis and documenting corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting engineering prototypes or specialized electronic test equipment.
