Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year experience in electronic assembly involving soldering through hole and surface mount parts
• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
• Skills: Demonstrated soldering skills (through hole and surface mount), ability to read engineering blueprints and manufacturing documentation, strong knowledge of electronic assembly
• Certificates: Soldering certification in both surface mount and through hole preferred
• Problem Solving: Not required for this position
• Decision Making: Limited decision making in self-inspection of soldering quality

Responsibilities

• Solders components onto printed circuit boards via hand or machine method
• Reads manufacturing documentation such as blueprints, process sheets and assembly and schematic drawings
• Receives verbal instructions and follows them
• Examines parts for defects such as cuts, pinholes, or chips
• Replaces defective components
• Enters information on production records, logs or other report forms
• Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel
• Performs assembly at the sub-assembly level of various products
• Cuts wires and builds wire harnesses
• Operates pick-n-place machines, solder paste machine, board washer and oven
• Performs self-inspection visually and with microscope
• Cuts printed circuit boards and grinds edges
