Job summary

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections in Concord seeks an Electronic Technician to install, test and repair electronic security systems within our state prison environment, working closely with inmates daily to ensure security and reliability.

Position requires 2.5 years of electronics-related education/experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness for on-call coverage including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 2.5 years of education and experience in electronics or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and access to transportation.
• Must be available for on-call through a rotating schedule and willing to work nights/weekends for emergencies.
• Must pass security and background screenings for correctional environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides security, training and supervision for inmate maintenance workers in electronics trades.
• Detects electronic deficiencies or malfunctions and performs repairs or service.
• Conducts weekly testing on electronic security systems and records results.
• Provides technical support to Electronic Technician II.
• Reads blueprints and schematics and interprets drawings for repairs.
• Adheres to safety regulations as mandated by codes and policy.
