Job summary

Morton in Petersburg/VA Beach is seeking an Electronic Security Technician for a 5‑month contract to permanent role. You will install cabling, card readers, door contacts, CCTV and access control equipment, and respond to service calls as required.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and DCJS registration (or ability to obtain). Background check and drug screen are required; per diem and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Install cabling and card readers, mount equipment, door contacts and strikes, intrusion detection, CCTV and access control systems.
• Functional understanding of low voltage systems and relays.
• Use diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting techniques to isolate equipment failures and resolve issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams and specifications.
• High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training preferred.
• Current DCJS registration or ability to obtain.
• Valid Driver License with clean driving record.
• Must pass Background Check and Drug Screen.

Position Title: Electronic Security Technician

Location: Petersburg / VA Beach

Position Status: 5-month contract to permanent

Pay Rate: $23-$30/hr. + Per Diem + Benefits Package

Schedule: M-F (7am – 5pm, may need to handle service calls as required) + No weekends
