KBR, Inc. seeks an Electronic Security Systems Technician to install, troubleshoot and repair security systems at facilities around Miami, FL, within a 50-mile radius. The role requires wiring, cabling, testing with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and testers, and ensuring system integrity.

Ideal candidates will be within commuting distance of Miami and able to lift 25–40 pounds. Core hours 7:00 am–5:00 pm; travel up to 10%. Must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 4+ years of practical experience with electronic security systems maintenance and installation.
• U.S. citizen required; ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform cabling and infrastructure installation (EMT conduit, cable trays, fiber, CCTV IP cameras, access control, intrusion panels) per IDP.
• Conduct function tests and analysis on installed systems.
• Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Dress and label cables and devices per IDP.
• Collaborate effectively in a team, be a self-starter, and meet critical deadlines.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Climb ladders up to 8 feet and lift 25–40 pounds. Use hand and power tools proficiently.

Title:

Electronic Security Systems Technician

Job Summary:

The Electronic Security System Technicians will be involved in troubleshooting, replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers and oscilloscopes. The work requires knowledge of basic and advanced electrical and electronic principles as they pertain to security systems and equipment installed at facilities.

Ideal candidates will be located within 50 miles of Miami, Florida.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform cabling and infrastructure installation to include EMT conduit, cable trays, cable and fiber optics. Installation of CCTV IP cameras, access control and intrusion detection panels and field devices in accordance with Installation Design Plan (IDP).
• Perform function tests and analysis on various installed systems.
• Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Cable dressing and labeling installed devices in accordance with IDP.
• A successful candidate must have a solid history of functioning in a team environment, being a self-starter, working independently with limited instruction, and meeting critical demands.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 8 feet in height and safely ascend/descend as needed
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing approximately 25–40 pounds
• Comfortable performing tasks in overhead work positions for extended periods

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• High school diploma.
• 4+ years of practical experience with electronic security systems maintenance and installation.
• The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an extensive customer investigation and clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree desired.
• Secret Clearance is preferred but not required.
• Special consideration given to candidates with OEM factory training from Identiv, Bosch and/or Cisco Switches.

Travel:

Travel up to 10% possible.
