Job summary

University of Alabama Libraries seeks a Resource Management Librarian to oversee the full lifecycle of electronic resource packages, including cost distributions, title changes, and perpetual access rights. This role partners with colleagues to activate and manage resources within the Library Services Platform.

The position also handles licensing negotiations with publishers/vendors, coordinates with procurement, and maintains licenses and transformative agreements.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited master's degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of electronic resource management and licensing.
• Experience with online discovery systems and library management systems.
• Strong project management skills and ability to balance multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of electronic resource packages including cost distribution, title changes and perpetual access rights.
• License electronic resources; negotiate licenses and coordinate with procurement.
• Maintain licenses in the LSP and support transformative agreements.
• Collaborate across units and with consortia to improve workflows and processes.
