Electronic Media Producer Specialist
Salary: $51,600 - $69,348* Annually

The Electronic Media Producer Specialist produces and edits video content that supports Olympic College’s marketing, public relations, and strategic goals. This position creates engaging multimedia content for use across social media, the college website, digital marketing campaigns, and other communication channels to promote the college, its programs, students, and community impact. Produce marketing and promotional video content.
- Plan, film, edit and publish high-quality video content that supports Olympic College marketing, branding, recruitment, enrollment, and promotional goals.
- Collaborate with Communications Department staff to develop video concepts, storyboards, shot lists, scripts, interview questions and production schedules.
- Produce short-form videos for social media in horizontal, vertical and platform-specific formats for the College website, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, digital advertising and other emerging platforms.
- Film on campus and at College events as needed to capture interviews, student stories, classroom and lab footage, campus life, b-roll and other visual assets that support College storytelling.
- Apply strong visual storytelling, sound, lighting, editing, pacing and branding practices to create content that is engaging, accessible and aligned with College standards.
Collaborate on internal public relations multimedia projects.
- Partner with Communications Department staff and internal clients to plan, film, edit and publish video content that supports internal public relations and strategic needs.
- Consult with project stakeholders to clarify audience, purpose, key messages, distribution channels, accessibility needs, timeline and desired outcomes.
- Coordinate and direct multimedia productions, including location planning, equipment setup, lighting, audio, staffing needs, filming, post-production and delivery.
- Edit video, audio, images and graphics using professional multimedia software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator and related applications.
- Track and manage multimedia projects, production timelines, equipment use, files and deliverables using project management, database and digital asset management tools.
- Utilize vendor accounts and internal processes for video captioning, transcripts and audio descriptions.
Act as subject matter expert.
- Advise the Communications Department and College employees on effective strategies to plan, capture, edit and deliver video-based marketing, promotional, social media and informational content across multiple platforms.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in social media video content, platform-specific best practices, audience engagement, accessibility, video production standards, and evolving content creation and consumption trends.
- Provide guidance on multimedia production principles, storytelling techniques, content planning, visual branding, equipment selection, software use and digital publishing tools.
- Monitor changes in social media platforms, content formats, audience behavior and emerging media trends, and recommend ways to adapt College video content to remain current, engaging and effective.
Develop and maintain the Communications Department video media library.
- Organize, manage and maintain archival footage, b-roll, completed videos, raw footage and reusable multimedia assets for departmental and College-wide use.
- Support the ongoing use and repurposing of previously produced video content for marketing, promotional, informational and archival purposes.
- Develop and maintain consistent branding standards and reusable assets for title cards, end cards, lower thirds, captions, on-screen text, motion graphics and related video elements.
- Establish naming, tagging, storage and file management practices that improve searchability, preservation, rights management and efficient reuse of multimedia assets.
Support Communications operations and compliance
- Stay current with accessibility, copyright, licensing and usage requirements as they apply to educational media and College-produced multimedia content.
- Advise Communications staff and College stakeholders on appropriate media use, copyright considerations, release forms, accessibility requirements and risk reduction.
- Contribute to Communications Department strategic and operational planning, development of new services, support for College initiatives and events, and program assessment.
- Document project plans, production decisions, timelines and ongoing status updates for the supervisor, Communications Department staff and key stakeholders.
Inventory multimedia equipment and production technology
- Evaluate, recommend, maintain and support audiovisual equipment used for video recording, audio recording, lighting, switching, distribution, monitoring and related production needs.
- Ensure the technical performance and readiness of multimedia production equipment and recommend repair, replacement or upgrades as needed.
- Develop strategies to increase consistency and compatibility in video production technology used by Communications and College employees.
- Stay current with technological developments in media production, with an emphasis on improving efficiency, quality, accessibility and sustainability of established workflows in an educational environment.
Minimum Qualification
- A minimum of two years of digital video production experience, including multimedia creation, streaming media, and new online learning technologies
- Experience as a multimedia producer and video editor
- Knowledge of and experience with multimedia accessibility compliance standards and practices
- Experience producing short-form video content for social media platforms
- Experience editing video using professional software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve or others.
- Demonstrated experience with audio, video, and quality control equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with creative storytelling and interviewing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate computer literacy skills
- Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs
Preferred Qualification
- Advanced graphic design, motion graphics, animation, or digital illustration experience.

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $51,600 - $69,348* annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A. After completing the six-month probation, your salary will increase by 2 steps. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits:
