The Electronic Maintenance Technician at The GEO Group, Inc. in Tacoma, WA installs and maintains the facility's closed-captioned TV, security electronics, surveillance and public address systems.

You will plan installations, follow diagrams, and ensure wiring meets codes while minimizing waste and hazards. Responsibilities include wiring, conduit routing, testing with industry tools, and ongoing troubleshooting of electronic systems.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in electrical/electronic systems preferred.
• Ability to read/build from blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of electronic/low-voltage systems.

Mansioni

• Install and maintain facility electronics including CCTV, security systems, and PA equipment.
• Plan installations to minimize waste and ensure code compliance.
• Route and pull wiring and conduit; perform terminations and testing.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems, using meters and test equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Electronic Maintenance Technician installs and maintains the facility's closed-captioned television, security electronics, surveillance and detection equipment, intercom, and public announcing systems.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• The Electronic Maintenance Technician plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials; provide access for future maintenance; and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• The Electronic Maintenance Technician prepares sketches showing locations of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams and blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Routes and installs electrical conduit when required.
• The Electronic Maintenance Technician routes and pulls low voltage wiring.
• Splices writing by acceptable methods.
• The Electronic Maintenance Technician performs termination of wiring in electronics.
• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs closed captioned televisions, security electronics, surveillance and detection equipment, intercom, and public announcing systems. Performs testing utilizing instruments such as ohmmeter, multi-meter, ohmmeter, and other specialty instruments.
• The Electronic Maintenance Technician observes functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• Two (2) years of experience in electrical systems, electronics, and information systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints of buildings, electrical systems, communications systems, and low voltage systems.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot problem areas and create cost effective and efficient ways to repair the daily needs of all equipment.
• Knowledge and understanding of computerized programs and integration.
