The Indiana National Guard seeks an avionics technician for the 122nd Fighter Wing in Title 32 status. The role requires expertise in complex electronic avionics systems and the ability to perform installation, troubleshooting, alignment, and maintenance across multiple integrated subsystems.
Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, report writing, and the ability to train and supervise lower-grade personnel in accordance with National Guard procedures.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Skilled in duties such as installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes. Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats. Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material. Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. In addition to the craftsman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate possesses the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Candidate also has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
