Job summary

Opticore, headquartered in Berkeley, CA, seeks an Electronic Hardware Engineer to translate system requirements into practical electronic hardware for photonic computing systems. You will own board development from schematics to validation, work on high-speed analog circuits and data converters, and collaborate with photonics engineers to ensure signal integrity and robust testing.

The role involves independent design, test plan development, and close coordination with vendors for fabrication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with PCB design software such as Altium Designer.
• Demonstrated expertise in high-speed analog circuit design and mixed-signal PCB development.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and parasitic effects.
• Experience with boards using DACs/ADCs and TIAs or integrators.
• Ability to design, build, and troubleshoot boards independently.
• Experience with circuit simulation and multilayer PCB design.

Responsibilities

• Own board development from component selection and schematic design through PCB layout.
• Prototype bring-up and validation for photonic computing systems.
• Develop test plans and characterize electronic prototypes with the team.
• Coordinate fabrication and assembly with vendors and maintain documentation.
