Qualifications

  • Two years of high school or trade school education.
  • Hands-on hand soldering and electronic assembly experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies per work instructions and drawings.
  • Perform hand soldering, connector installation, and epoxy tack bond.
  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, and inspect subassemblies.
  • Read schematics, blueprints, process plans, and engineering drawings.
  • Use fixtures and tools to build assemblies accurately.
  • Inspect parts and materials for defects before assembly.
  • Perform rework and repair as needed.
  • Operate solder reflow ovens, P&P machines, and automated measurement systems.
  • Maintain production accuracy and quality standards.
  • Work in clean room and controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Document production activities in computer-based systems.

Title: Electrical Assembler II (2nd Shift)

Location: Austin, TX

Shift: 2nd Shift, 4 days x 10-hour schedule

Pay Rate: $29.70/hour (including shift differential)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler II to join a high-performing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong hand soldering experience, mechanical assembly skills, and the ability to perform precision work in a production environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to interpret technical documentation and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform hand soldering, connector installation, and epoxy (tack bond) applications.
  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, and inspect production subassemblies.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, process plans, and engineering drawings.
  • Utilize fixtures and tools to accurately build assemblies.
  • Inspect parts and materials for defects prior to assembly.
  • Perform rework and repair activities as required.
  • Operate production equipment such as solder reflow ovens, semi-automatic pick-and-place machines, and automated measurement systems.
  • Maintain production accuracy and quality standards.
  • Work within clean room and controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Accurately document production activities using computer-based systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of High School or Trade School education.
  • Hands-on experience with hand soldering and electronic assembly.
  • Experience with rework and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience soldering to IPC Class 3 standards.
  • Knowledge of selective soldering and high-volume wave soldering processes.
  • Experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and AXI (Automated X-Ray Inspection).
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • J-STD Modules 1, 3, and 6 certifications highly desirable.
  • Experience with tack bond (epoxy) applications.
