Job summary

Ascension is seeking an Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technician for the Neurodiagnostic Lab in Indianapolis. This full-time, day-shift position supports the Ascension St.

Vincent Indianapolis Hospital by attaching and operating EEG leads, reviewing records, instructing patients, and monitoring during procedures. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience OR an associate/technical degree or 4 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program
• ABRET Neurodiagnostic credentialing & Accreditation preferred (ABRET) or equivalent credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from the electroencephalograph machine.
• Review the patient's record and instruct patients before procedures; monitor patient during procedures and report abnormal findings.
• Identify and correct for artifacts; edit and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintain EEG equipment and supplies.

How you'll make an impact in this role

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program
• At least one year of experience preferred
