Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis seeks an Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist to perform routine END procedures including EEG, EMG/NCV, AFT, EP, INM and LTM. The role emphasizes safety, equipment readiness and ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of END-related experience, including basic math and Windows OS skills, along with BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of work experience is required (2 years currently preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience is preferred (1 year acceptable).
  • Basic mathematics skills including multiplication, division, percentages, decimals and fractions are required.
  • Basic computer operations and Windows OS proficiency are required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians and staff are essential.

  • Ensures all equipment is clean and functioning properly.

Brief Overview

The Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist is responsible for conducting routine and special END procedures including, but not limited to, Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Velocity (EMG/NCV), Autonomic Function Testing (AFT), Evoked Potentials (EP), Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (INM), Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTM). Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

  • Prepares patients for and performs routine procedures.
  • Performs routine procedures.
  • Performs END tests in accordance with established Electroneurodiagnostics Department protocols.
  • Ensures that all equipment is clean and in working order.
  • Initiates opportunities for self‑development and enhancement of professional competency.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education / Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION-3-1604 1-3 years (2 years)
  • Preferred - WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION-3-1603 1-3 years (1 year)
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
  • Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Basic mathematics skill as acquired through graduation of high school. Minimum skills required are multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, and fractions.
  • Basic computer operations skills including use of Windows operating system required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills with patients, their families, physicians, electroneurodiagnostics Department staff and other members of hospital staff.
Supervision Provided by this Position
  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
Physical Demands
  • May require scheduled nights, holidays and weekend on‑call availability.
  • The physical activities of this position may include crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
