Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, CA is seeking an electron optics engineer to advance our e-beam technology and develop next-generation measurement solutions. You will hands-on calibrate electron beam tools, run experiments, diagnose issues, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-resolution imaging data.

The role offers opportunities for global engagement, with up to 10% travel, and requires a strong foundation in physics or electrical engineering, plus practical SEM experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Materials, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• Hands-on experience with system-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and calibration of SEM.
• Fundamental knowledge of electron optics, surface science and imaging.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on operation, maintenance, and calibration of electron beam tools or benches.
• Develop and run experiments to characterize systems and mitigate risks.
• Analyze, diagnose, and deliver practical high-impact solutions.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams and customers.
• Travel up to 10% for vendor and customer interactions.
• Develop and document training material, troubleshooting procedures and BKMs.
• Coordinate tool schedules and train users on operation.
