Job summary

Arkana Laboratories in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Training in the Electron Microscopy department. You will train in preparing histologic slides for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists, working under limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Histology-specific and laboratory technical skills.
• Prefer 2 years of lab experience but not required.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree with biology/chemistry coursework

Responsibilities

• Assess tissue adequacy for testing
• Perform quality control checks on materials produced
• Complete equipment maintenance and logs
• Develop problem-solving skills—determining causes of operating errors and deciding corrective action
• Controlling operations of equipment and systems
• Monitor and assess performance to make improvements or take corrective action
• Assist in Lab for other duties as assigned
• Practice safe work procedures
• Periodically review work product for compliance with SOPs
