Physik Instrumente in Shrewsbury, MA is seeking an Electromechanical Wiring Technician for the electrical assembly department. This full-time temp-to-perm role runs Mon-Fri, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

You will wire electrical harnesses, cables, panels, and cabinets in a hands-on environment, with performance-based transition to permanent status. Responsibilities include soldering, crimping, assembly, testing, and defect reporting per ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in related field.
  • Soldering experience is required.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Soldering and crimping of small gauge wires.
  • Electrical assembly of cables, wiring harnesses, electrical sub-panels, and cabinets.
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting defects in electrical assemblies and cables.
  • Report failures and defects via company quality processes.
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to achieve quality, safety and productivity goals.
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed.
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.

We are looking for you Electromechanical Wiring Technician

We have an immediate opening for an Electromechanical Wiring Technician to work in our electrical assembly department based in our Shrewsbury, MA office. This is a full-time temp to perm position, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Successful performance and attendance during the initial 90 days will transition into a permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for the wiring of electrical harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical panels, and cabinets.

  • Soldering and crimping of small gauge wires
  • Electrical assembly of cables, wiring harnesses, electrical sub-panels, and cabinets
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting defects in electrical assemblies and cables

Skills and Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Proficient with hand crimp tools in the making of cables and/or harnesses
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable & Wiring Harness standards, endorsement preferred
  • Familiar with standard D-subminiature connectors
  • Familiar with machine and cabinet wiring
  • Can work with wires from ranging from 10 to 36 AWG
  • Soldering experience is required, J-STD-001 endorsement preferred
  • Able to work from a sitting or standing position for extended periods of time
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred
  • US Citizen or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in related field

The pay range for this role is $25-$30 per hour. Compensation is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
