Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electromechanical Technician (Starshield) on 2nd shift in Hawthorne, CA. You will build high-reliability electromechanical assemblies for Starshield satellites, following drawings and controlled processes, and participate in tests like HASS, HALT and thermal chambers.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 1+ year of using mechanical hand tools; preferred are an associate degree and 2+ years with wire harnesses or electronics, plus experience in fast-paced production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using mechanical hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble high-quality, high-reliability electromechanical assemblies.
• Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all work.
• Read, interpret, and work from drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes such as: Mechanical drawings, standard dimensioning and tolerancing, GD&T; and assembly procedures.
• Record work performed in the shop-floor management system (ERP) and use email (Microsoft Outlook).
• Perform verification of flight hardware and document results clearly and precisely.
• Assist with the development of production processes for first-time production runs and area efficiency improvements.
• Run tests in HASS/HALT and thermal chambers.
• Self-identify quality issues from workmanship, vendor-supplied defects, and design issues.
