Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure electrical and mechanical integrity across automation equipment. You will troubleshoot PLCs, I/O, and VFDs, perform preventative maintenance, and install/repair components to minimize downtime.

Work shifts include Tue–Fri 1pm–9:30pm, Sat 6am–2:30pm or Sun–Thu 1pm–9:30pm with a $1.50/hour shift differential after noon. Must be able to lift and move heavy parts and comply with PPE and safety rules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience or related field.
• Experience with low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of frequency drives, servos, electrical and PLCs.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs, I/O and VFDs.
• Flexible to evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to frequently reach up to 77 inches.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a variety of equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and predict failures.
• Dismantle machines to access problem areas.
• Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings and fixtures.
• Inspect parts to detect wear or misalignment; replace parts as needed.

Job description

Tuesday to Friday 1 pm–9:30 pm, & Saturday 6 am–2:30 pm

orSunday to Thursday 1 pm–9:30 pm

$1.50/hour shift differential applies to any shift that begins after 12:00 PM.

This position is responsible for maintaining electrical and mechanical systems on all automation equipment. (S)he will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and implementing corrective and preventative measures.

Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

• Repair and maintain a variety of equipment and perform preventative maintenance on distribution center and/or manufacturing equipment


• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot, analyze and predict upcoming failures


• Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas


• Operate metalworking machines such as bench lathes, milling machines, punch presses, and drive presses to fabricate housings, fittings, jogs and fixtures


• Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems


• Remove and/or replace worn or defective parts


• Regular and reliable attendance


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred


• 3+ years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience or experience in a related field


• Experience with low and high voltage electrical systems


• Demonstrated understanding of operating principles of frequency drives, servos, electrical and PLCs


• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs, I/O and VFDs


• Proficient at maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, I/O and VFDs software


• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.


• Must be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds


• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds


• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds


• Regularly stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl
