Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings is seeking an experienced Electrician/Technician responsible for electrical diagnosis and repair on the given shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. PLC programming with ladder logic, reading schematics, and testing equipment are essential.

The role requires self-direction, good communication of repair status, and prioritization of tasks. Ideal candidates will have formal electronics training, 5+ years of craft experience, and may also hold anAssociates degree

Qualifications

• Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of five years’ experience.
• Associates degree in an electronic field or Journeyman’s card preferred.
• Valid Kansas Class C driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
• Have experience in Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Square D PLC logic programming.
• Possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
• Have experience in an industrial environment and the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.
• Be familiar with related test equipment and three‑phase 480V circuits, and experience with 480V and below.
• Be a dedicated, hard‑working self‑starter.
• Desire to have repair, installation and troubleshooting experience of commercial industry machinery, robotics, plumbing, and/or physical building structure.
• Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE required in the performance of the responsibilities.
• Work safely, maintain a clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor.
• Show willingness to work overtime as needed and to take on additional assignments requested by management.
• Maintain 5S standards.
• Serve as weekly on‑call up to six times a year.

SUMMARY

Responsible for all electrical diagnosis and repair on the given shift to include maintenance, service, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Must be able to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages. Ability to work self‑guided and prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
