Job summary

Nestlé Purina Batavia plant seeks an Electromechanical Technician (Industrial Electrician) to maintain, troubleshoot and optimize production equipment across electrical and automation systems. You will work with production, engineering and maintenance teams to solve problems safely and quickly during 8:00–16:00 training, then 18:00–06:00 on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience in an industrial setting.
• Technical degree or certification with at least 1+ year of relevant experience in industrial electrical and mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, wiring, belts, valves.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical equipment and automation hardware such as PLC and HMI.
• Read ladder logic and adjust PLC and HMI programming for inputs, outputs, and sensors.
• Maintain and troubleshoot material handling systems such as ASRS in the warehouse.
• Use CMMS, diagnostic instruments, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with team to maintain equipment and solve technical problems.
• Perform basic rigging, mechanical practices and welding in an industrial environment.
• Share electrical and mechanical expertise to train other team members.

As an Electromechanical Technician (Industrial Electrician), you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair and optimize production equipment with a focus on electrical and automation systems. Day to day, you will work with production, engineering and maintenance personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely to keep factory assets operating efficiently.

This position will initially work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. during training and orientation. Once training and orientation are completed, the shift will transition to nights (6 p.m.-6 a.m.), operating on a 2-2-3 schedule format (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).

The starting pay for this position is $38.56/hour with a strategic Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages up to $44.99/hour, based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, wiring, belts, valves, etc.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical equipment and automation system hardware such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI)
• Read ladder logic and make basic adjustments to PLC and HMI programming related to inputs, outputs, tags, sensors and/or buttons
• Maintain and troubleshoot material handling systems such as the automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in the warehouse
• Utilize mechanical and electrical tools, diagnostic instruments (meters), electrical diagrams and schematics, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other digital tools to work safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems
• Perform basic rigging, mechanical practicesand welding skills in an industrial environment
• Model electrical safety and share electrical and mechanical expertise to train other team members

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with 3+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical, electrical and automation systems and equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

OR

• Technical degree or certification with at least 1+ year of relevant industrial electrical and mechanical experience

OTHER

• After training and orientation, you must be willing to work 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule

The approximate starting hourly pay for this Electromechanical Technician C is $38.56/hour. The pay progression plan follows: Electromechanical Technician B $41.78/hour, Electromechanical Technician A $44.99/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
