Job summary

Matthews International in Corvallis, Oregon is seeking a Design & Product Engineer (Mechanical) to lead mechanical architecture, design, and integration of products, tools, testers and components. You will develop and test specifications and methods across the product life cycle, from concept through production and support.

The role requires hands-on CAD work (SolidWorks), strong analytical and communication skills, and collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Solid modeling and CAD experience, especially SolidWorks.
• Familiar with data capture and image archiving in company databases.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and communication tools.
• Strong analytical, planning and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Solid mathematical understanding.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and develops mechanical/electromechanical systems and products.
• Designs feasibility studies and testing methods for products.
• Supports development of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Maintains build/docs of designs and prototypes; analyzes trends.
• Provides engineering information to customers and departments.
• Plans projects and resources for medium complexity assignments.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
