Job summary

Meta is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer for electromechanical hardware in Redmond. You will own end-to-end failure analysis from intake to corrective action, work with design and quality teams, and drive CAPA workflows.

You will diagnose failures using signature-based methods, perform physical FA (teardown, metrology, microscopy), and contribute to NC decisions, test-station improvements, and cross-functional problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or a related field.
• 5+ years hands-on failure analysis on electromechanical hardware.
• Experience applying root-cause methodologies to real hardware failures.
• Experience writing FA reports that enable design engineers to act.
• Hands-on lab competence with DMM/oscilloscope and test fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end FA for hardware units, from intake to corrective action.
• Diagnose by signature and isolate failing domain (mechanical/electrical/firmware).
• Write and maintain FA tooling and fleet-level analyses; drive NC/CAPA workflows.
• Collaborate with design ME/EE/FW and suppliers on containment and fixes.
• Perform physical FA: teardown, metrology, microscopy, and related tests.
